Out with the Old in with the New Year
Orson Byron Lowell (American, 1871 to 1956)
In this New Year cartoon, a cherub flies in with a satchel marked 1907 while an old man kicks up his heels and a top-hatted figure departs into the night, all under the amused eye of a man with a globe for a head. Lowell, an illustrator of the New Rochelle art colony, drew at a large scale for magazine reproduction. The back carries the stamp of Murray A. Harris of North Hollywood, "Collector of Graphic Art".
